Toss Pakistan chose to bat v India
India and Pakistan renewed their rivalry after the World Cup 2011 semi-final, with Misbah-ul-Haq choosing to bat. MS Dhoni said that he would have bowled first anyway as he felt the Mirpur pitch offered something more to the bowlers during the afternoon. Also on his mind would have been the way his medium-pacers failed to defend a substantial target against Bangladesh.
Yusuf Pathan came in in place of the struggling Ravindra Jadeja, with Dhoni saying that the latter was not fit. Pakistan left out wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed for an additional quick-bowling option in Wahab Riaz, leaving Umar Akmal with the additional task of keeping wicket.
Unless India can win by a bonus point, Pakistan will be through to the final.
