Sehwag skips practice session ahead of 3rd ODI

Dec 4: Indian captain Virender Sehwang kipped the optional practice session along with five other team members, who are set to reach the venue on Sunday evening ahead of Monday’s third ODIagainst the West Indies.

Also missing from the list of players who practiced at the outdoor nets of the Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium in Motera were Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane,Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli and newcomer Varun Aaron who had taken a short break after the second match at Visakhapatnam to go home.

The Indian players who practiced today at the nets were wicketkeeper batsman Parthiv Patel, who opened the innings with Sehwag in the first two games, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, Suresh Raina, Rahul Sharma, Abhimanyu Midhun, Umesh Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin, Vinay Kumar and Manoj Tiwary.

Patel, who scored 12 and 2 in the first two games following his none-too-impressive display in the away series in England, batted for over an hour at the nets.

India are 2-0 ahead in the five-match rubber and another victory by the home team on Monday would end the competitive interest in the series.
